Historic Museum at Sukna Station Reopens in a New Avatar

Ahead of the Puja season, the historic photo gallery-cum-museum of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) at Sukna Station has been renovated and given a new look. The museum was formally reopened during the ‘Station Mahotsav’ held on Saturday.

The event was attended by Northeast Frontier Railway General Manager Chetan Kumar Srivastava, DHR Director Rishabh Chaudhary, and other railway officials.

The museum showcases the history of Sukna Station, old photographs, and the rich heritage of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. Visitors can scan QR codes installed inside the museum to access additional historical information.

Entry to the museum is included in the Toy Train ticket, while other visitors will be charged an entry fee of ₹50. The museum will remain open seven days a week, from 10 AM to 5 PM.

The renovated museum is expected to become an additional attraction for tourists travelling towards the hills during the Puja season.
