Motorola on Friday announced the launch of the edge 70 max, its latest flagship smartphone, as the company seeks to strengthen its position in India’s premium smartphone segment with a combination of high-performance hardware, artificial intelligence capabilities and premium design. The smartphone will be available from July 20 via Flipkart, Motorola.in and leading retail stores at an effective introductory price of Rs 49,999, with no-cost EMI options of up to 18 months.
Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, the edge 70 max delivers an Antutu benchmark score of over 3 million and is equipped with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM, 256GB storage and an advanced 5,500 sq mm vapour chamber cooling system. The device features what Motorola claims is the segment’s only Quad HD+ (2K) LTPO AMOLED display with up to 7,000 nits peak brightness and a 144Hz refresh rate, while a 7,100mAh silicon-carbon battery supports 90W TurboPower fast charging and 25W Qi2.2 magnetic wireless charging. Other key features include a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 AI-powered camera, Android 16 with Hello UX, Motorola Qira cross-device AI platform, ThinkShield security, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, MIL-STD-810H certification, IP68/IP69 protection and a premium matte glass finish with an aircraft-grade aluminium frame.
Motorola India Managing Director T.M. Narasimhan said the edge 70 max integrates the company’s latest innovations in performance, AI, display technology, battery life and design, while the introduction of Motorola Qira reflects its strategy of creating a seamless AI ecosystem across Motorola smartphones, Lenovo PCs and tablets.In Siliguri, the launch is expected to reinforce Motorola’s retail presence in one of eastern India’s fastest-growing consumer electronics markets. As Siliguri serves as a commercial gateway to North Bengal, Sikkim and the Northeast, demand for premium smartphones with AI features and flagship specifications is increasing among professionals, students and content creators. Industry observers expect the edge 70 max to intensify competition in the premium segment while supporting higher-value smartphone sales across the region.
