A young student from a modest farming family in Assam’s Tinsukia district has turned perseverance into success by securing an impressive rank in the NEET-UG 2026 examination.
Bishu Limbu, a resident of Ketetong No. 2 Nakang Pathar under the 83rd Margherita Assembly constituency, scored 610 marks and secured All India Rank (AIR) 7,320 in the country’s premier medical entrance examination.
The son of marginal farmer Foud Limbu and Om Kumari Limbu, Bishu pursued his studies despite severe financial constraints. His determination and consistent hard work enabled him to overcome economic challenges and achieve his dream of qualifying for medical education.
His success has been widely celebrated across the Margherita region, with residents describing his achievement as a source of inspiration for students from underprivileged families. Many said Bishu’s journey demonstrates that dedication and perseverance can triumph over financial hardship.
Expressing his gratitude after the results, Bishu thanked his parents, teachers and well-wishers for their unwavering support throughout his academic journey. He said his ambition is to become a doctor and dedicate his life to serving society.
