Tecno has given its Pova 8 Pro 5G a more premium makeover with a new special edition created in collaboration with Italian lifestyle brand Tonino Lamborghini. This limited-edition smartphone marks the first smartphone partnership between the two brands and focuses heavily on a distinctive luxury-inspired design.
The special edition comes in a Tonino Lamborghini Black colourway, complemented by red accents and a hexagonal pattern on the rear panel. Tecno has retained its signature Pulse Line design, while adding a mirror-like layer underneath it to produce a light-reflecting effect.
Tonino Lamborghini branding appears on the rear in metallic lettering. The phone also features a custom ‘L’ signature on the Alive Matrix Display, adding another exclusive design element that is not available on the standard model.
Apart from the exterior changes, the specifications remain largely the same. The smartphone runs HiOS 16 based on Android 16. Tecno has promised two Android version upgrades and three years of security updates.
The device features a 6.78-inch HyperLux AMOLED display with a 2,644×1,208-pixel resolution. The panel supports a refresh rate of up to 144Hz and offers a pixel density of 429ppi. It has a 93.18 percent screen-to-body ratio and a peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i provides protection.
Powering the smartphone is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G chipset, paired with an Arm Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. The handset is available with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Tecno’s memory expansion feature can add virtual RAM, taking the total available memory to as much as 24GB.
For photography, the phone has a dual rear camera setup. The primary sensor is a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-700C unit with OIS, accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. The camera module also houses the customisable Alive Matrix Display. On the front, there is a 13-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and NFC. The smartphone also gets a USB Type-C port and an infrared remote control. Security features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, while the device comes with an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, G-sensor, e-compass and gyroscope.
The phone packs a 6,500mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. It measures 162.48 x 77.27 x 7.39mm and weighs 189 grams.
Tecno has not yet revealed the price or sale date of the limited-edition Pova 8 Pro 5G. The company has also not confirmed whether the Tonino Lamborghini Edition will be launched in India.
The hardware is largely unchanged compared with the standard Pova 8 Pro 5G, which was launched in India last month at Rs. 49,999.
