Realme has revised the prices of several smartphones in India, making it the latest smartphone maker to increase prices after OnePlus, Oppo and Vivo. The price hike covers a number of models from the Realme 16 and C-series, with some smartphones becoming up to Rs. 4,000 more expensive.
The new prices are effective from August 18. As per a communication reportedly sent by Realme to its retail partners, higher costs of memory, chipsets and other components used in smartphones have prompted the company to revise prices.
Among the affected models, the Realme 16 Pro+ 5G has received the steepest hike. The 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model, previously priced at Rs. 49,999, now costs Rs. 53,999. The 8GB + 256GB variant is priced at Rs. 55,999, while the 12GB + 256GB version now costs Rs. 58,999.
The Realme 16 Pro 5G has also seen a substantial increase. Its 8GB + 128GB variant has gone from Rs. 40,999 to Rs. 44,999. The 8GB + 256GB model now costs Rs. 46,999, while the 12GB + 256GB variant is priced at Rs. 49,999, with both receiving a Rs. 3,000 hike.
The Realme 16 5G and Realme 16T 5G have received a Rs. 1,000 price increase across all three configurations. The price revision has also extended to the company’s affordable C-series smartphones.
The Realme C83 5G is now priced at Rs. 18,499 for its 4GB + 64GB variant, compared with Rs. 17,499 earlier. Its 4GB + 128GB and 6GB + 128GB variants have become Rs. 2,000 more expensive and are now available for Rs. 21,499 and Rs. 24,499, respectively.
The Realme C100x 4G has also become costlier, with its 4GB + 64GB variant now priced at Rs. 16,999, up from Rs. 14,999.
The price hike was initially reported by tipster Sanju Chaudhary on X after he shared what appeared to be a communication sent to Realme’s retail partners. While Realme has not yet made an official announcement regarding the revision, the updated prices are already visible on its India website.
With the new prices already in effect, customers looking to purchase these models will have to pay the revised amounts. Realme has not yet provided a model-wise explanation for the individual price changes.
