Maruti Suzuki Starts Commercial Production at Second Kharkhoda Plant in Haryana

India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), officially announced the commencement of commercial production at the second plant of its mega manufacturing facility in Kharkhoda, Haryana. This strategic expansion adds an immediate annual production capacity of 250,000 units, doubling the total installed capacity at the Kharkhoda site to 500,000 vehicles per year.

With this new operational line, Maruti Suzuki’s cumulative annual production capacity has climbed to a massive 2.65 million units. This footprint spans across its primary manufacturing hubs in Gurugram, Manesar, and Kharkhoda in Haryana, alongside its major plant located in Hansalpur, Gujarat. The rapid expansion directly aligns with the company’s previously stated roadmap to aggressively inject an additional 500,000 units of capacity during the 2026-27 fiscal year.

Currently, the automaker utilizes the Kharkhoda facility to manufacture its highly popular passenger vehicles, including the compact SUV Brezza and the mid-size SUV Victoris. Heavy market demand for these segments continues to anchor the facility’s localized output.

Looking ahead, the Kharkhoda site is slated to become a cornerstone of the brand’s global manufacturing strategy. Once all future expansion phases are fully realized, the facility will boast a maximum capacity of 1 million vehicles per annum. This milestone will officially cement Kharkhoda’s position as one of the largest four-wheeler manufacturing hubs for parent company Suzuki Motor Corporation worldwide.
