Mankind Pharma strengthens breast cancer awareness drive through Pink October campaign

Mankind Pharma has intensified its focus on breast cancer awareness, early detection and timely treatment through its Pink October campaign, as part of its #1 Million Lives initiative aimed at making cancer-related information more accessible and promoting informed healthcare decisions.

The company highlighted warning signs such as breast lumps or thickening, changes in breast size or shape, skin or nipple changes, and unusual discharge. While these symptoms do not necessarily indicate cancer, medical evaluation is important. Clinical examinations and mammography, based on age and individual risk, can support early detection.

“Cancer awareness must extend beyond healthcare facilities and become an integral part of how people approach their health,” said AtishMajumdar, Senior President, Mankind Pharma, emphasising the importance of proactive healthcare decisions.

DrDebdeepSamanddar, Consultant Medical Oncologist at Manipal Hospital, EM Bypass, Kolkata, said timely medical consultation and diagnostic assessments, including HER2 testing where indicated, help doctors determine appropriate treatment options.

From a Siliguri market perspective, the campaign highlights opportunities to strengthen healthcare awareness across North Bengal, where accessible medical information and timely consultation remain important for patients and families. Greater awareness could also encourage informed engagement with diagnostic and oncology services.

Launched in June 2026, the #1 Million Lives initiative has trained more than 500 health workers, while 285 doctors pledged in July to help protect one million families. The campaign reinforces Mankind Pharma’s focus on preventive oncology and timely care.
