Manav Suthar Makes First-Class History, Joins Elite List as Only the Second Player to Achieve This

India spinner Manav Suthar has created a piece of first-class cricket history after achieving a rare feat that had been accomplished only once before. The left-arm spinner, who made his Test debut against Afghanistan, has continued his impressive run in red-ball cricket

After playing an important role in India’s two-Test series win over Sri Lanka, Suthar travelled to England to rejoin Warwickshire for their County Championship campaign.

The Rajasthan-born spinner made a significant contribution to Warwickshire’s dominant victory over Glamorgan at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. Warwickshire won the match by an innings and 257 runs after bowling Glamorgan out for just 69 and 65 in their two innings.

Suthar finished the game without conceding a single run across both innings. He also claimed three wickets, with all three of his dismissals coming through bowled.

His remarkable performance earned him a place in an extremely exclusive record. Suthar has become only the second player in first-class cricket history to take at least one wicket in both innings of a match without conceding a run.

The only player to achieve the feat before Suthar was England’s Tom Hayward, who accomplished it way back in 1895.
