A special enrolment drive for left-out and first-time/young electors was conducted at all polling stations across Gyalshing District on Sunday.
The enrolment drive was conducted under the guidance and supervision of the District Election Officer (DEO), Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), and Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO).
Booth Level Officers (BLOs), in coordination with Booth Level Agents (BLAs), conducted the intensive drive to identify eligible citizens whose names were missing from the electoral rolls, particularly first-time and young electors who have attained or are eligible to attain the age of 18 years.
During the exercise, BLOs compared the existing electoral rolls with the pre-SIR electoral rolls, identified eligible left-out electors, and facilitated the submission of Form 6 applications for voter enrolment, wherever applicable.
The District Election Office, Gyalshing, appreciated the collective efforts of BLOs, BLAs, election officials, political party representatives, and the public in ensuring the successful conduct of the drive, aimed at promoting inclusive voter enrolment and democratic participation.
