Manipal Hospitals strengthened its community healthcare outreach efforts by organising a health screening programme at Salugara Monastery in Siliguri on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti, reinforcing its focus on preventive and accessible healthcare services.
The initiative was conducted by Manipal Hospital Siliguri, one of the leading comprehensive healthcare providers in North Bengal and part of the Manipal Hospitals Group. The programme brought together participants from diverse backgrounds, reflecting a strong focus on inclusivity and community engagement. Attendees underwent basic health screenings and medical consultations aimed at encouraging early diagnosis and timely medical intervention.
As part of the awareness drive, the hospital distributed informative brochures detailing its key specialties, diagnostic and treatment facilities, emergency services, and guidance on when patients should seek medical care. Hospital officials said the initiative was designed to improve awareness of accessible healthcare services and help families make informed health decisions.
Speaking on the initiative, Hospital Director Sanjay Singha Mahapatra said the programme reflected the group’s commitment to taking healthcare beyond hospital premises and into communities. Participant Tenzin Dorjee, a schoolteacher, said the camp offered convenient access to healthcare services and increased awareness about the importance of regular health screenings.
Manipal Hospitals currently operates a network of 49 hospitals across 24 Indian cities with 12,600 licensed beds and serves over 8 million patients annually.
