Vodafone Idea (Vi) has launched Vi Intelligence, a strategic artificial intelligence (AI) initiative aimed at accelerating digital transformation across its operations and helping enterprises across industries adopt next-generation AI technologies.
At the centre of the initiative is the Vi Intelligence Lab, established in partnership with PwC India to develop, incubate and scale enterprise AI solutions. PwC India will establish a dedicated Centre of Excellence team at Vi’s Mumbai facility, combining the telecom operator’s digital infrastructure with PwC’s transformation expertise to connect global AI leaders, startups, research institutions and businesses.
Jagbir Singh, CTO of Vi, said the initiative would help organisations adopt AI practically and at scale, improving customer engagement, service experiences and cross-functional processes.
Vinish Bawa, Partner and Leader, TMT, PwC India, said the partnership would support enterprises in embracing intelligent and autonomous processes while ensuring responsible AI adoption.
The lab will operate around three pillars — Agentic, Assistive, and Sovereign and Responsible AI — with all use cases governed by Vi’s GRACIE Responsible AI framework.
Its programmes will include business-focused AI incubation, proprietary technology development, global hackathons, innovation challenges, an AI factory for accelerating pilot deployments and workforce skilling initiatives. The company aims to help enterprises modernise operations, improve customer experiences and unlock new growth opportunities through AI.
