Smriti Mandhana has further strengthened her position in the top five of the ICC Women’s T20I batting rankings following her outstanding performance against Hong Kong in the ongoing Women’s Asia Cup.
The India opener scored a brilliant 124 off 64 deliveries, helping India register a 137-run victory and secure their place in the semi-finals. The innings also brought a major personal milestone for Mandhana, who became the highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket across all formats.
Mandhana’s overall tally has now reached 10,880 international runs, taking her past Mithali Raj, who finished her career with 10,868 runs. Her century against Hong Kong was also her 18th in international cricket, giving her the outright record for the most international centuries in women’s cricket.
Mandhana is currently ranked fifth among T20I batters.
There has also been movement for India’s Deepti Sharma in the latest rankings. Her performances with both bat and ball have helped her rise two places to sixth among the leading T20I bowlers. She has retained fifth position in the all-rounders’ rankings, continuing to underline her value to the Indian team during the tournament.
United Arab Emirates captain Esha Oza has also continued her upward progress. She has moved to 39th in the T20I batting rankings and remains just outside the top 20 among all-rounders. Her performances have further highlighted her standing as one of the leading players from an Associate Member nation.
