Army Jawan Killed by Wild Buffalo While Resting During Football Match in Pachmarhi

An army jawan met a tragic death after being attacked by a wild buffalo while playing football. The 26-year-old jawan lost his life when a wild buffalo suddenly attacked him while he was sitting on a bench beside the playground. The shocking incident took place on the evening of October 29 at the parade ground of the Army Education Corps Training College and Centre in Madhya Pradesh.

According to administrative sources, the jawans were playing football on the centre’s ground. In the middle of the game, a jawan named Akash Singh Chauhan was sitting on a bench beside the field taking rest for some time with another colleague. At that time, a ferocious wild buffalo that came running from somewhere directly gored Akash, who was sitting on the bench, with its horns, inflicting grievous injuries.

Akash Singh Chauhan, a resident of Dudhli in Doiwala, Dehradun district of Uttarakhand, was immediately taken by his colleagues to the military hospital located in the army cantonment. But upon reaching the hospital, doctors declared the young man dead.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed deep grief over this tragic incident. Through social media, the Chief Minister paid his last tribute to the deceased jawan and prayed that God gives strength to the bereaved family to bear such an irreparable loss.

Meanwhile, soon after receiving news of the incident, a team from the Forest Department of the Satpura Tiger Reserve reached the spot and started an investigation into the whole matter. The forest department is paying special attention to how the wild buffalo entered inside the parade ground, which is surrounded by high security fencing, and under what circumstances the attack took place.
