Akasa Air’s onboard meal service, Café Akasa, has introduced its first Durga Puja Special Meal, bringing traditional Bengali flavours to passengers during the festive season. Available throughout October, the limited-edition meal features Radha ballabhis served with Dhokar Dalna, Baked Rasgullas and a beverage of choice. The meal can also be prebooked through Akasa Air’s website or mobile app.
The airline said the initiative is part of its effort to reflect India’s diverse cultural traditions through curated onboard culinary offerings. Café Akasa has introduced limited-edition meals for occasions including Makar Sankranti, Holi, Eid, Onam, Ganesh Chaturthi, Dussehra, Diwali and Christmas since Akasa Air began operations in August 2022. The airline also offers pre-selection of cakes for passengers celebrating special occasions.
The Durga Puja offering gives Akasa Air an opportunity to connect more closely with passengers in West Bengal, where the festival has significant cultural and commercial importance. Kolkata is among the airline’s 30 domestic destinations, alongside Guwahati, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and other major cities.
Akasa Air has served more than 31 million passengers since launch and currently operates 43 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The airline has placed an order for 226 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft as part of its long-term expansion strategy.
