PNB Housing Finance expands affordable housing push with first eastern India PMAY nodal branch in Siliguri

PNB Housing Finance has expanded its affordable housing finance outreach in eastern India with the inauguration of its first PMAY Nodal Branch in the region at Siliguri, West Bengal. The dedicated branch will facilitate access to housing finance and benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 (PMAY-U 2.0), targeting eligible salaried and self-employed customers.

The inauguration was attended by Smt Sarika Pradhan, IAS, Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Government of Sikkim, as chief guest, and Shri Sanjay Shukla, Managing Director, National Housing Bank, as guest of honour. The launch comes ahead of PMAY Awas Diwas on September 17 and aligns with the Government’s Housing for All vision.

Ajai Shukla, MD & CEO, PNB Housing Finance, said the Siliguri facility, the company’s second PMAY Nodal Branch nationally, would bring organised housing finance closer to customers in a region where demand for affordable homeownership is growing. He described Siliguri as a promising urban and economic centre and a strategic gateway to Northeast India.

In Siliguri, the new branch is expected to strengthen formal housing finance availability in the city and surrounding markets, potentially supporting first-time homebuyers and regional housing demand. PNB Housing Finance has over 400 branches nationwide, including more than 230 Roshni affordable housing branches.
