Sikkim Moves to Connect Local Entrepreneurs With Malls and Organised Retail Spaces

The executive team of Sikkim Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (SEED) Cell, led by its president Raj Lama, called on Minister for Urban Development Department (UDD) and Food, Civil Supplies Department, Bhoj Raj Rai to deliberate on the retail opportunities for local entrepreneurs in the State.

The meeting focused on exploring opportunities to facilitate the display and sale of locally made products by Sikkim’s entrepreneurs in malls, marts and organised retail spaces across the state.

The proposed initiative aims to provide local entrepreneurs with greater market access, visibility and opportunities to showcase their products, while helping connect locally produced goods with a wider consumer base.

The initiative is also expected to contribute towards strengthening Sikkim’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by creating more avenues for local businesses to grow, expand their markets and build sustainable enterprises within the state.

The meeting further highlighted the importance of creating a supportive environment for young and emerging entrepreneurs, encouraging them to explore entrepreneurship as a viable career and contribute to the state’s economic development.
