Maruti Suzuki, Gujarat Government Join Hands for Industry-Ready Workforce

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced the establishment of Advanced Manufacturing Labs (AMLs) at five Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Gujarat, in collaboration with the Directorate of Employment and Training (DET), Government of Gujarat. The initiative aims to enhance industry-oriented skill development and prepare a future-ready workforce for the evolving automotive sector.

The company, the Advanced Manufacturing Labs will be set up at ITIs located in Palanpur, Bhavnagar, Surendranagar, Godhra, and Dahod. The programme is designed to provide students with hands-on, experiential learning opportunities using modern equipment, thereby bridging the gap between classroom education and real-world industrial requirements.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd said the initiative aligns with its broader manufacturing expansion plans in Gujarat, which are expected to generate demand for a skilled workforce across new industrial ecosystems. The company believes that each expansion brings the need for talent that is trained in advanced technologies and manufacturing processes.

Senior officials from Maruti Suzuki highlighted that the labs will help nurture industry-ready professionals who can seamlessly integrate into the automotive manufacturing ecosystem. The company also emphasised that the initiative will play a key role in addressing the growing demand for skilled manpower in the sector.

Maruti Suzuki supports 31 ITIs across India in various manufacturing-related trades, reinforcing its continued focus on vocational training and skill development as part of its long-term industry engagement strategy.
