Cancer care demand grows as Manipal Hospital Rangapani honours survivors

Manipal Hospital Rangapani marked National Cancer Survivor Day by honouring cancer survivors and highlighting the growing importance of advanced oncology care in eastern India. Another survivor, ApuBurman, an RPF personnel who recently resumed duty after completing treatment, recounted her journey of recovery despite personal hardships, including the loss of both parents while being the sole earning member of her family. She expressed gratitude to the hospital team, particularly Chandrakala from the Radiation Oncology Department, for providing critical emotional and medical support.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Anirban Nag said every cancer survivor represents a story of courage and determination. Dr. Manish Goswamiemphasised that emotional well-being and family support are integral to successful treatment outcomes, while Dr. PrithwijitMoitra highlighted how modern radiation therapy and multidisciplinary care are improving precision and quality of life for patients.

In Siliguri, the event reflects rising awareness and increasing demand for specialised cancer care across North Bengal and neighbouring regions.
