Sindhu, Lakshya Defeated in Quarterfinals

The journey of Indian star duo PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen came to a halt in the quarterfinals of the Singapore Open. While both stars were defeated in their respective singles events, the mixed doubles pair of Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto has advanced to the semifinals.
In the women’s singles quarterfinal match held today, South Korea’s An Se-young defeated Sindhu in straight games with a score of 21–17, 21–14. Sindhu looked completely out of rhythm during the match. Although she put up some challenge in the first game, that effort was not enough to secure a match victory.
Meanwhile, in the men’s singles event, Lakshya Sen was defeated despite putting up a three-game fight against Japan’s Koki Watanabe. The final match score went in Watanabe’s favor at 21–19, 15–21, 21–15.
In the mixed doubles category, the path to the semifinals became smooth for India’s Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto after the Malaysian pair of Toh Ee Wei and Chen Tang Jie retired from the court midway through the first game. The Malaysian duo was leading 18–16 when they had to leave the court due to an injury.
