Analysis on Lok Sabha elections votes by Assam Chief Minister

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma analyses number of votes post-Lok Sabha election results. The Assam CM claimed that now Congress is completely Muslim party, the vote share didn’t increase at the cost of BJP, their was a shift of Muslims from AIUDF party to Congress party.

Assam CM said, “The results make it clear that the Muslims, who account for 40% of the State’s electorate, have adopted the Congress in Assam. I do not know whether they will remain with the Congress or return to the AIUDF in the 2026 Assembly election.”

Analysing the NDA’s route, he shared, “Our vote share increased 10% from that of the 2019 elections. We did better than other parties in 93 of Assam’s 126 Assembly segments compared to 67 in 2019 and we increased our seat count from nine to 11. The NDA’s vote percentage increased only in Assam after Odisha.”

Further, the Assam CM has also admitted that due to religious war and sufferings, BJP couldn’t secure a seat in Manipur, Meghalaya and Nagaland, people have expressed their grievances through EVM.
