Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to visit Mizoram on October 5 and is expected to inaugurate several development projects during his visit, including initiatives being implemented through the state Cooperation Department, government officials said on September 25.
Officials said the detailed itinerary for Shah’s visit has not yet been received, but preparations have already begun in the state. The visit, if confirmed, is expected to include the inauguration of various projects aimed at strengthening development and cooperative activities in Mizoram.
According to officials, projects under the state Cooperation Department are among those likely to be inaugurated during the Union Home Minister’s visit. Further details about the projects and Shah’s schedule are expected to be made available once the official itinerary is received.
Meanwhile, the Mizoram administration has started making arrangements for the movement of the Union Home Minister. Aizawl Deputy Commissioner Lalhriatpuia has issued an order restricting vehicle parking along the route from Lengpui to the Youth Recreation Centre in the Falkland area of Aizawl on October 5.
The order has been issued to facilitate the movement of Shah and ensure smooth traffic management during his visit. Motorists have been directed not to park vehicles in a manner that could cause traffic obstruction along the designated route.
As part of the traffic arrangements, all petrol pumps located along the designated route will also remain closed on October 5, officials said.
