Track Settlement Near New Harangajao Disrupts Train Services on Lumding–Badarpur Section; Several Trains Cancelled and Rescheduled

Train services on the Lumding–Badarpur Hill Section have been disrupted after railway tracks near New Harangajao station developed a settlement, prompting the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) to impose restrictions on train operations and suspend night movement of passenger trains through the affected stretch.

Railway officials said the settlement affected both Line-1 and Line-2 near New Harangajao station. At present, all trains are being operated through Line-3 under strict safety monitoring and regulated speed restrictions.

As a precautionary measure, passenger-carrying trains will not operate through the affected section between 7 pm and 5 am until restoration work is completed. Daytime train movement is continuing under enhanced safety protocols and continuous monitoring.

Engineering teams, railway personnel and heavy machinery have been deployed at the site on a war footing to restore the damaged track. Railway authorities expressed hope that normal services would resume once repair work is completed safely.
