Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday held a meeting with a delegation of the All Koch Rajbongshi Students’ Union (AKRSU) at Loksewa Bhawan to discuss issues related to the welfare, development and aspirations of the Koch Rajbongshi community.
The meeting was attended by Assam Minister Ashwini Ray Sarkar, MLAs Jibesh Ray, Dharmeswar Roy and Rupam Chandra Ray, Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Executive Member Karmeswar Ray, and Kamatpur Autonomous Council Chairman Hiteswar Barman. The interaction focused on strengthening the government’s engagement with the community and addressing issues concerning its socio-economic development.
According to Chief Minister Sarma, the discussions covered a range of matters aimed at improving the overall welfare and development of the Koch Rajbongshi community. The meeting also provided an opportunity for representatives of the AKRSU to place their views and concerns before the government and discuss measures to support the community’s long-term progress.
Sharing details of the meeting, the Chief Minister said the interaction centred on the welfare, development and aspirations of the Koch Rajbongshi community and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working closely with community representatives.
“The discussions focused on the welfare, development and aspirations of the Koch Rajbongshi community. Our government remains committed to addressing their concerns through continued dialogue and development-oriented initiatives,” the Chief Minister said.
The state government has been engaging with different community organisations through consultations and dialogue to ensure that development initiatives are inclusive and responsive to local needs. Saturday’s meeting formed part of those ongoing efforts, with both sides exchanging views on issues affecting the Koch Rajbongshi community.
