Motorola has entered India’s premium foldable smartphone segment with the launch of the motorola razr fold, featuring what the company claims is the world’s best foldable camera system recognised with the DXOMARK Gold Label. The smartphone, launched on May 13, comes with a starting price of Rs 1,39,999 or Rs 5,556 per month and will be available through Flipkart, Motorola.in and retail stores.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor and Android 16-based Hello UI, the razr fold packs a massive 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 80W TurboPower charging, 50W wireless charging and 5W reverse charging support. The device features a 6.6-inch LTPO AMOLED external display with 165Hz refresh rate that unfolds into an 8.1-inch 2K AMOLED display with 6,200 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support.
Motorola highlighted the smartphone’s triple 50MP Sony LYTIA camera setup with 8K Dolby Vision recording, 100x super zoom and moto AI-powered imaging tools. The company also unveiled a limited FIFA World Cup 2026 edition priced at Rs 1,69,999 featuring FIFA-themed customisations and a 24-karat FIFA logo plating.
Alongside the foldable, Motorola launched the moto buds 2 plus at Rs 4,999, featuring Sound by Bose, Dynamic ANC, Bluetooth 6.0, LHDC and LDAC codecs, and up to 40 hours of playback.
The launch could strengthen Motorola’s premium footprint in eastern India, particularly in Siliguri, where demand for flagship Android devices, foldable smartphones and premium wireless audio products has been rising steadily. Retailers in Siliguri expect strong consumer response from young professionals, gaming enthusiasts and premium smartphone buyers ahead of the festive season.
