AESL signs MoU with Indian Army, announces scholarships and support for soldiers’families

Aakash Educational Services Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Army to extend educational support and welfare benefits to serving personnel, veterans, and their families. The agreement, announced on April 3, aims to benefit a wide range of Army families, including retirees, gallantry awardees, personnel with disabilities, and families of soldiers who died in service.

The MoU was signed by Colonel, Ceremonial & Welfare, Indian Army, and Dr Yash Pal, Chief Academic & Business Head (Delhi-NCR), AESL. Under the agreement, Army students enrolling at AESL centres across India will receive nationwide scholarships and special provisions. These include 100% fee waivers (excluding registration fees) for wards of personnel who died in service, full tuition waivers for wards of gallantry awardees and those with over 20% disability, and a 20% tuition waiver for wards of serving and retired personnel, after other scholarships.

AESL Managing Director and CEO Chandra Sekhar Garisa Reddy said the initiative aims to honour soldiers’ sacrifices by empowering their families through education, mentoring, and counselling support via both online and offline platforms.

In Siliguri, a key educational hub for North Bengal and the Northeast, the move is expected to strengthen demand for structured test preparation services. With a significant presence of defence families in the region, AESL’s targeted scholarships could drive higher enrollments while enhancing access to quality coaching for aspirants from Army backgrounds.
