Youth arrested with drugs on Bengal-Bihar border in Kharibari

Kharibari, June 11: In a significant crackdown on drug smuggling, police have arrested youth with a huge cache of illegal substances at the Bengal-Bihar border in Kharibari. The arrested a person has been identified as Mohammad Nasik (25), resident of Singhia Jot.

Reportedly, during a routine vehicle search in Singhia Jot area, law enforcement officials recovered 103 grams of brown sugar and 20 bottles of banned cough syrup from the car. The operation was conducted by Panitanki outpost police under Khoribari police station.

Following the arrest, a search of Nashik’s residence yielded Rs 99,700 in cash and a motorcycle, which has been seized by the police. According to sources, the seized brown sugar was sent to Bihar for smuggling.

Nashik Was produced in Siliguri division court on Tuesday. The police have started a investigation into the case to uncover further information.
