In an initiative aimed at supporting women’s entrepreneurship and self-reliance, the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) that has been incubated under Niti Aayog, in collaboration with MakeMyTrip, announces the launch of “Project Maitri”. This unique endeavour focuses on women in the north-east region of the country, by leveraging the untapped potential of homestays as a pathway to entrepreneurship, economic empowerment, and independence.
The event ‘Enabling Women-Led Development in Arunachal’, attended by Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu, aimed to promote gender-balanced progress in the state. Project Maitri is a initiative aiming to empower and inspire homestay owners in north-eastern states.
Participants will receive specialized training in hospitality, safety, digital marketing, and compliance. The top three homestay owners will be awarded, promoting excellence and innovation in the sector.
