Vi (Vodafone Idea) has strategically launched its industry-first International Roaming (IR) packs to cater to the growing demand for affordable connectivity among Indian pilgrims heading to Saudi Arabia for Hajj. With the annual quota for Indian pilgrims increased to over 1,75,000 this year, the new IR packs, starting at Rs. 1199 for 20 days, provide unlimited incoming calls, significant data quotas, and free outgoing minutes, addressing the need for affordable international roaming services.
The packs, available for both Prepaid and Postpaid customers, come with flexible validity options of 20 and 40 days, ensuring that pilgrims can stay connected throughout their journey. The Prepaid pack offers 2 GB of data and 150 minutes of outgoing calls, while the Rs. 2500 Postpaid pack includes 4 GB of data and 500 minutes of outgoing calls. This move is poised to capture a significant market segment, especially in regions with a high number of Hajj-bound travelers.
