UK Schools Introduce AI Tutors to Combat Learning Gaps

The UK government has announced a new initiative to introduce AI-powered tutoring platforms across public schools to bridge post-COVID learning gaps. The software will provide personalized lessons in maths, science, and English, adapting to each student’s pace.

The pilot program is being rolled out in 500 schools and is funded under a £60 million education tech grant. Teachers will use the AI system alongside traditional methods to better identify student weaknesses.

Education authorities in Bangladesh and Bhutan have shown interest in exploring similar adaptive technologies, especially in rural areas where teacher shortages are acute.
