On June 23, 2023, the G20 Labour Summit in Patna came to an end after discussions on migrant labour, universal social security, women, and the future of work. Representatives from 28 nations, as well as specialists, academics, and government officials, attended the summit. During the Summit, a resolution that summarised the agreement on the key concerns was also adopted. Later, the Troika countries also released a joint statement.
Ahead of the last day of the meeting, G20 delegates visited the Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib Gurdwara in Patna Sahib. On the last day of the meeting, Hiranmoy Pandya, Labor 20 group chairman, handed over leadership to Ruth Coelho Monteiro, Brazil’s next chairperson, assuming the G20 presidency. On the sidelines of the meeting, the guests from India and abroad who came to Bihar were shown a glimpse of the history and future of the State through cultural programs.
A visit to the ancient Nalanda University is also being organized for the delegates. Labor expert Ravi Raman said,“The global scenario of work migration has changed due to the introduction of artificial intelligence and information and communication technology. The G20 countries should accept these important changes in the region.”
