Italian cyclist Kevin Bonaldo passed away, according to his team. He was admitted to the hospital last month after becoming ill during a race. He was twenty-five. Following his collapse at the conclusion of the Piccola Sanremo race on September 21 in the Italian town of Sovizzo, Bonaldo was placed under observation for a month. “After a month of heroically battling between life and death, the SC Padovani Polo Cherry Bank is devastated to announce that Kevin Bonaldo has passed away this morning,” his squad announced. “Our business wishes to show how close it is to Kevin’s family and all of his loved ones.” After becoming ill, Bonaldo was sent to the San Bortolo Hospital’s intensive care unit in Vicenza and put into an induced coma. According to his staff, he appeared to be improving at first, but in the final hours before his death, his condition worsened.
