Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) launched the new Fortuner and Legender Neo Drive 48V variants, introducing segment-first intelligent electric assist technology aimed at boosting fuel efficiency and driving performance. Equipped with a powerful 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine paired with a 48-Volt system, the Neo Drive grades offer smarter idle start-stop, Multi-Terrain Select, and a 360-degree panoramic camera, enhancing both urban and off-road driving experiences.
Mr. Varinder Wadhwa, Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, highlighted that these models meet evolving customer demands with bold styling and advanced features, while aligning with Toyota’s commitment to carbon neutrality through practical, future-ready mobility.
Where SUV demand has been rising steadily amid expanding urbanization, these new variants are expected to attract buyers looking for rugged yet efficient vehicles. The inclusion of wireless smartphone chargers and refined drive experiences caters well to the tech-savvy, convenience-seeking market segment in this region. Safety remains a priority, with seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, Hill Assist, and other features standard. Prices start at Rs 44.72 lakh for Fortuner Neo Drive and Rs 50.09 lakh for Legender Neo Drive. Bookings opened on June 2, with deliveries starting mid-June.
