Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is celebrating the government’s new budget, which they see as a masterful blend of infrastructure investment, social upliftment, and environmental stewardship. Mr. Vikram Gulati, Country Head and Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Governance at TKM, shared his insights on how the budget reflects a commitment to balanced economic growth.
Gulati praised the budget for its ambitious infrastructure plans and social sector enhancements, noting that the fiscal deficit target of 4.9% shows fiscal prudence while supporting significant development projects. He highlighted the government’s focus on agricultural productivity and women’s workforce participation as crucial for spreading the benefits of economic progress more widely.
The budget’s targeted measures for MSMEs and manufacturing caught Gulati’s attention as well, with expectations that these will bolster the sector’s role in the national economy. He also lauded the government’s commitment to energy transition and climate action, which aligns with TKM’s sustainability goals, including a pledge to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.Gulati was particularly enthusiastic about the new initiatives for education and skill development, including a CSR-funded internship scheme designed to better prepare young professionals for the job market. “These steps will boost disposable incomes and spur consumption, fueling economic growth,” Gulati concluded, affirming TKM’s dedication to the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ through their mantra of ‘Grow in India, Grow with India.’
