The New Health Normal Report, published by Aditya Birla Health Insurance Company Ltd, found that 79% of respondents in Guwahati believe their awareness of health and wellness issues has increased post-COVID-19, compared to 84% nationally. The pandemic has led to an increase in demand for health insurance plans, with uninsured individuals seeking higher coverage or sum insured.
Over half of respondents in Guwahati feel it’s less taboo to speak to a medical professional post-Covid, while 65% don’t know how to find authentic experts. 56% still feel hesitant to visit a mental health expert due to cost. 88% believe mental health consulting should be included in health policies. 77% consider cutting down on luxury items for emergencies. Only 61% actively seek employer insurance for family medical expenses.
