Indra Hang Subba, a member of the Lok Sabha from Sikkim, has expressed sincere gratitude to the Indian government for its decision to bring back the sacred Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in the summer of 2025. Subba praised the announcement following discussions between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, speaking on behalf of the people of Sikkim, especially the pilgrims. He underlined how important this choice is to advancing India-China diplomatic, cultural, and spiritual connections.
For millions of devotees, the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is a profoundly spiritual trek that represents dedication and serenity. The revival of the Yatra, with possible entry through East Sikkim’s Nathula Pass, would significantly improve pilgrims’ accessibility, making this holy pilgrimage simpler and more approachable, Subba emphasized. Subba further expressed the expectation that the Yatra would coincide with the reopening of the Nathula trade route.
He thinks that both countries might gain from this initiative’s potential to boost local trade, upgrade infrastructure, and promote economic cooperation between China and India. The MP demonstrated his dedication to fostering mutual understanding and trust between the two nations by restating his support for programs that advance peace and cooperation. Additionally, he expressed his appreciation to everyone who helped bring this vision to life and pledged to keep up his relentless efforts to promote Sikkim’s interests in this momentous undertaking.
