The 3rd G20 FWG meeting begins in Kochi

The 3rd Framework Working Group is being convened under India’s G20 Presidency from June 13-14 2023 in Kochi, Kerala. The conference, was co-chaired by Dr. V. Ananth Nageswaran and Tom Hemingway, concentrated on contemporary global macroeconomic concerns. The summit was attended by more than 75 participants from G-20 member countries, invited nations, and numerous international and regional organizations.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the current global economic outlook, the macroeconomic impact of food and energy insecurity, and the macroeconomic impact of climate change and transition pathways. It also sought to explore areas where global cooperation could help support countries’ domestic efforts.

On the sidelines of the meeting a panel discussion on “Financial Globalization – Opportunities and Risks” will be organized and will be moderated by Cornell University professor Ishwar Prasad.  Earlier, the delegates were taken on the Kochi Water Metro and enjoyed performances by local artists, as well as various programs to give them a glimpse of the city’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
