Thanks to PM Modi for marking the Rs 50 commemorative coin, BJP Sikkim

The Sikkim branch of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has expressed its sincere appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian government for commemorating the golden jubilee of Sikkim’s membership in the Indian Union (1975–2025) with a commemorative silver coin worth Rs 50. “The coin’s issuance is much more than a symbolic gesture—it is a reaffirmation of Sikkim’s unique cultural identity and its proud journey as an inseparable part of India,” said BJP Sikkim, which described the move as a historic homage. Such commemorative mementos, the party stressed, reinforce the sense of unity and diversity in the country and act as lasting recollections of important historical events.

The coin, which is expected to become a valuable collector’s item, honors the Sikkimese people’s perseverance, achievements, and aspirations. In order to increase tourism and public interest in the area, it also seeks to increase knowledge of the state’s rich customs and cultural heritage. “These initiatives not only enhance the economy and culture, but they also have the potential to generate income through the sale of collectibles,” BJP Sikkim stated. “As we consider fifty years of integration and collective national advancement, it evokes a profound sense of pride among all Indians, particularly the people of Sikkim.”
