Tata Cummins Private Limited signs MoU with Jharkhand

TCPL Green Energy Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (TCPL GES) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Jharkhand to establish a manufacturing plant for low-to-zero-emission technologies for mobility solutions. The MoU was signed by Shri Jitendra Kumar, Secretary of the Department of Industries, Government of Jharkhand, and Mr. Ajay Patil, Chief Financial Officer, Cummins Group in India. The collaboration demonstrates the State Government’s commitment to India’s Panchamrit Tatva to combat climate change and aligns with the Jharkhand Government’s vision of transitioning to a low-carbon economy.

TCPL GES plans to invest over Rs. 350 Crores in fuel-agnostic powertrain solutions, including Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine, Battery Electric Vehicle Systems, Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle Systems, and Fuel Delivery Systems. The plant is expected to commence production in 2024 in a phased manner. This investment will create an anchor enterprise, develop a robust supply ecosystem, and provide direct employment opportunities for over 300 skilled youth, enabling social and economic development in the state.

Expressing his resolve to promote state development in a sustainable and inclusive manner, Shri Hemant Soren, Chief Minister, Jharkhand said, “The collaboration with TCPL GES is part of Jharkhand’s commitment to achieving the country’s net-zero target for 2070 and position itself as a hub for new technological developments.”
