Tab scam: Lal Bazar police taken into custody 3 people from Siliguri

Siliguri, Nov 18: Siliguri has been linked to the ‘tab scam’ as the Lal Bazar intelligence department arrested three people from the city for their involvement in the scam.

The accused have been identified as Dibakar Das, Vishal Dhali and Gopal Roy. Dibakar Das, a resident of Chopra and a school teacher, is suspected to be the main accused of embezzling the money related to the scam. His brother Vishal Dhali, a resident of Samar Nagar, and son-in-law Gopal Roy, a resident of Pabitra Nagar, have also been arrested.

According to reports, the trio were at Samar Nagar on Sunday afternoon and then went to a shopping mall at Sewak Road in Siliguri where the police intercepted and arrested them.

The suspects were taken to Kolkata on Sunday night for further investigation. Their family members and neighbours are in shock over the incident.
