Swiggy Instamart expands to 100 cities, taps into rising quick commerce demand

Swiggy Instamart, India’s leading quick commerce platform, has expanded its footprint to 100 cities across the country, fueled by increasing demand in tier 2 and 3 markets. The platform recently launched in 32 new cities, including Raipur, Siliguri, Jodhpur, and Thanjavur, bringing 10-minute deliveries to millions of new customers.

With over 30,000 products ranging from groceries and essentials to electronics, fashion, and makeup, Swiggy Instamart is transforming shopping habits. Amitesh Jha, CEO of Swiggy Instamart, stated, “One in four new users in 2025 came from tier 2 or 3 cities, highlighting the growing demand for quick commerce beyond metros.” To enhance service, Swiggy is introducing ‘megapods’—large 10,000–12,000 sq. ft. darkstores stocking up to 50,000 SKUs, significantly expanding product availability. The platform is also integrating local favorites like Sudha Milk in Patna and Vachan in Raipur.

Quick commerce trends highlight a single-day spend of ₹69,993 in Thiruvananthapuram, and a Dehradun customer’s total spend of ₹3.34 lakh. Patna set a record, crossing 1,000 daily orders in just four days, while Hubli saw a single order worth ₹8,980 for wireless earphones on launch day.
