Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) proudly presented two specially customized versions of the iconic Hilux at the North Tech Symposium 2023 (NTS), an annual technology showcase event organized by the Northern Command of the Indian Army in collaboration with the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) and IIT Jammu. The primary objective of this event is to promote cutting-edge indigenous development and production of defense technology, aligning with the vision of ‘Atmanirbharta’ or self-reliance in the defense sector. This year’s symposium signifies a significant step forward in strengthening the Indian Army’s focus on Synergy, Research Development, and Innovation for the modernization of its capabilities.
Through its authorized external vendor, TKM made specific modifications to the versatile Hilux to cater to diverse requirements, particularly those of the Indian Army. These customized vehicles demonstrate TKM’s unwavering commitment to finding unique solutions to meet the specialized needs of its customers, including military applications, thereby contributing to evolving mobility requirements across various markets and sectors, in line with the ethos of ‘Mobility for All.’TKM introduced two distinct modifications to the Toyota Hilux to cater to specific army requirements and other special consumer needs. Additionally, the standard, general-purpose Hilux was also showcased at the Symposium, held from September 11 to 13 at IIT Jammu.
Globally, the Hilux has exceeded 20 million units in sales, earning acclaim from discerning customers in over 180 countries. It offers a choice between a 6-Speed Automatic and 6-Speed Manual Transmission, along with an impressive array of features and a powerful engine.
