On 29th November in an unsuccessful attempt of smuggling in Siliguri, the Dabgram Range Forest officials of the Baikunthapur Division exposed a pickup van loaded with valuable sal wood concealed under sacks of paddy. Right now the arrested driver’s identity has been withheld by the forest department for the duration of the investigation. Reportedly acting on a tip off the pickup van carrying paddy was pulled over in front of the Dhakeshwari temple adjacent to the Eastern Bypass as stated by the Dabgram Ranger Shyama Prasad Chakladar. During the search officials found the smuggled logs of sal concealed behind sacks of paddy. Presently the police are busy in further investigation.
This type of activity is very bad as it is very big crime and people should be strict against it. Today Siliguri has very important position geographically and different types of activity happening here. For police it becomes very important to keep eye on it and not allow any type of crime to happen. Actually from this type of illegal activity huge amount of money are earned by the criminal and for this reason they get encouraged to do it. But from now it become very important to take strict action against them and stop this type activity so that common people live a peaceful life.
