SMFG India Credit achieves a Guinness World Record

SMFG India Credit has achieved a Guinness World Record for conducting the ‘Largest Cattle Welfare Lesson (Multiple Venues)’ with 517 participants across six locations. The record was set during the company’s 7th edition of PashuVikas Day (PVD), held across 500 venues in 16 states, benefiting around 1.9 lakh beneficiaries, including 1.5 lakh cattle and 40,000 cattle owners.

Held under the theme ‘MeraPashuMeraParivar,’ PVD highlighted the crucial role livestock plays in the financial wellbeing of rural communities. More than 6,000 employees actively participated, showcasing SMFG India Credit’s commitment to rural welfare. CEO and Managing Director Shantanu Mitra stated, “Our Pan-India presence with over 1,000 branches enables us to serve communities at every stage of life. This achievement reflects our dedication to financial inclusion and rural development.”

COO Swaminathan Subramanian added, “This recognition strengthens our resolve to empower communities through innovative and sustainable initiatives.” SMFG India Credit’s Pashu Vikas Day has previously earned accolades from multiple record organizations for hosting large-scale cattle care camps.
