Siliguri thief detained after repeated theft attempts, city residents shocked

Siliguri, 18th July (Retd.). The heartbreaking incident of audacious theft has left the residents of Siliguri in a state of disbelief and worry. The accused thief Rakesh Mistry is a resident of Kholachand Fapri area, who was caught red-handed while attempting robbery. The incident took place in Anand Vihar Colony of Bhaktinagar police station area of ​​Siliguri.
According to reports, on Sunday, a thief entered the house of local resident Amlan Jyoti Sarkar and committed the crime after seeing the house empty. After this the homeowner lodged a complaint at Bhaktinagar police station. However, the thief was dissatisfied with the previous theft incident and returned on Wednesday night to repeat the crime. Meanwhile, the people of the area became alert and immediately caught the thief.
Later that night, the matter was reported to Bhaktinagar police station and the accused was taken into custody. After interrogation, the accused confessed to attempting both the crimes. Later, the police recovered several items including a stolen laptop, an expensive watch and several pen drives from his possession. There is anger among the area residents due to frequent incidents of theft.
