Siliguri short and documentary Film Festival 2024 is coming for the new generation

Siliguri Short and Documentary Film Festival 2024 to bring forward the new generation of independent directors. Under the initiative of Siliguri Cine Society, this special film festival will be organized in association with the Federation of Film Societies of India. The exhibition will continue on October 2, 3, and 4. A total of 23 movies will be screened at a hotel on Bidhan Road in Siliguri. This year, not only in India, short films and documentaries from other countries will also be shown. A total of 40 films were sent to this film festival. 23 movies have been selected out of them. 20 documentary films were sent, and 8 were selected. Not many movies have come out for recent events in Bangladesh.

The event will end on October 5. Federation of Film Societies Secretary Amitabh Ghosh will give a special speech on that day. Cash prizes will be awarded in five categories on the same day. Speaking on behalf of Cine Society, Pradeep Nag said, “This is the Indo-Bangladesh Film Festival. Due to the recent situation in Bangladesh, not many movies have come out. But this is our effort to highlight human talent. Hope everyone likes it.” He further said, “There are many directors who make movies with all their savings from selling jewellery. But even if the movie is made, there is a lack of space to show it. This festival is mainly organized for them. Everyone feels that such a platform for movie lovers is really unimaginable.”
