In Sikkim, teachers recently embarked on a transformative journey of discovery and empowerment at a Vedic Maths Workshop, a collaborative effort between the Vedic Maths Forum India and the Samagra Shiksha, Education Department, Govt. of Sikkim. From 12th to 14th February 2024, educators from across the region gathered at Sir Tashi Namgyal Senior Secondary School, not just to learn, but to experience the magic of numbers in a whole new light.
The workshop, infused with warmth and camaraderie, offered teachers a glimpse into the ancient wisdom of Vedic Mathematics. Led by Mr. Gaurav Tekriwal, whose passion for math is infectious, participants delved into the intricacies of mental math through interactive sessions and hands-on activities. For many, it was a journey of self-discovery, as they realized their own potential to unravel mathematical mysteries with ease.
Mrs. Anushree Tekriwal, Director of the Vedic Maths Forum India, shared anecdotes of students’ awe and delight as they mastered Vedic Maths techniques. “It’s not just about calculations,” she said, “It’s about building confidence and instilling a love for learning.”
