Samsung has initiated design thinking workshops in Mangan schools. This initiative, integral to Samsung’s renowned ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ program, aims to cultivate crucial skills like problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking among students aged over 14. The workshops, aligned with India’s educational context, introduce students to the principles of design thinking, urging them to tackle real-world challenges through innovative solutions. Led by the Human-Centered Design Thinking framework, these sessions emphasize empathy, definition, ideation, prototyping, and testing to develop solutions that resonate with end-users.
Mr. SP Chun, Corporate Vice President of Samsung Southwest Asia, highlighted the workshops as a platform for students to engage in problem-solving, collaboration, and creative thinking, stating, “Samsung Solve for Tomorrow is part of our vision to empower the next generation and foster an ecosystem of innovation in the country.”
With applications open until May 31, 2024, participating students, aged 14-17, stand to win grants and Samsung products to advance their prototypes. The winning team, named the “Community Champion,” will receive a seed grant of INR 25 lakh for prototype advancement, alongside Samsung products for their school.
