Sikkim CM and Governor Mathur spearhead the state’s commemoration of International Yoga Day

On June 21, Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang attended the 11th International Day of Yoga celebrations, which took place in Gangtok’s Paljor Stadium inside. Governor Om Prakash Mathur, cabinet ministers, a Lok Sabha MP, MLAs, senior officials, students, and members of the public were among the luminaries that attended the occasion. The ceremony was held with great unity and excitement, and the Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction to be a part of it.

The Chief Minister commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts to promote yoga internationally during his speech. “I sincerely commend the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s initiative, which aimed to bring international recognition to the age-old practice of yoga, our nation’s legacy, and its glory,” he continued. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech from Vishakapatnam was aired live throughout the event. The Prime Minister discussed the increasing global acceptance of yoga in his statement.

With the theme “Yoga for Humanity 2.0,” the event seeks to foster connections between individuals from many nations and cultures while advancing balance, health, and peace. Paljor Stadium hosted the event, which featured a variety of yoga poses and breathing techniques, highlighting the value of incorporating yoga into daily life for both physical and mental health.
