On May 14, Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang congratulated students throughout the state for their exceptional success in the 2025 CBSE exams, calling the accomplishment a turning point in the state’s educational history. He called it a moment of pride for the state as a whole and credited the impressive advancement to the combined efforts of students, teachers, and the government’s targeted programs. The pass rate in Class 10 increased by a noteworthy 13 points, from 66.87% in 2024 to an outstanding 79.97% in 2025.
Improvements were seen in both public and private institutions, suggesting that academic achievement has increased throughout the state. With the pass percentage rising from 87.49% to 89.41% this year, the Class 12 results likewise demonstrated an upward trend. “These results demonstrate the dedication of our students, the dedication of our educators, and the transformative impact of our government’s ongoing investment in education,” Tamang, the chief minister, said in a statement. “These results are not just numbers.”
He also recognized the contribution to bolstering student academic support made by the state’s flagship Mentorship Program, which has been implemented in all 32 constituencies. The chief minister called it the start of a real “education revolution” in Sikkim and asked all parties involved to keep fostering talent, recognizing effort, and making sure all children, regardless of background, have the chance to thrive. He reaffirmed his government’s dedication to creating a future in which everyone has access to high-quality education.
