During an event in Dubai, Shah Rukh Khan revealed that King director Siddharth Anand, who also directed Pathan, had strictly warned him against sharing details of the project.
Age is just a number for Shah Rukh Khan, who danced, sang songs from his films and interacted with fans at a recent event in Dubai’s Global Village. The Jawaan star also declared that, even though he is turning 60 this year, he feels he is not a day older than 30.
During the event, Shah Rukh also spoke about his upcoming film King and revealed that director Siddharth Anand, who previously directed his film Pathan, has strictly warned him against sharing any details about the project.
Shah Rukh’s comment makes it clear that Sujoy Ghosh, who was earlier supposed to direct King, is not directing the project. Speaking at the event, Shah Rukh said, “I am not just shooting here, I am shooting it in Mumbai as well, when I go back in a few months.
My director Siddharth Anand is very strict. He made Pathan. So he is very strict. He said, ‘Don’t tell people about the film, what you are doing in it.’ So I can’t tell you but I can assure you that it will entertain you, you will enjoy it.” With his typical humour, Shah Rukh said, “I have used many titles…now we have run out of titles…now Shah Rukh Khan as Shah Rukh Khan in King. There will be a little show-off.”
The actor’s high-energy performance left the audience amused. They danced to songs from Jawaan, including “Chaleya” and “Zinda Banda”. He also performed on the song “Chammak Challo” from his film Ra.One and reminded fans that even though he put in a lot of effort for the film, it is the only song that fans remember.
Shah Rukh also spoke his famous dialogue from Jawaan, “Bete ko haath lagaye se pehle baap se baat karo.” Talking about age, Shah Rukh quipped, “I am turning 60 this year, but I look 30.”
Apart from entertaining fans, Shah Rukh also gave an important message. He urged all men to respect women, saying, “Men all over the world please give a lot of respect to women and listen to them when you meet them.
You have to understand them first and then do what you want. You have to respect every woman a lot.” On the professional front, Shah Rukh will be next seen in King. The film reportedly also stars his daughter Suhana Khan in the lead role.
